RED BULL PRO NATIONALS – ROUND 2 @ LANDRAKE – POSTPONED UNTIL 24/25TH APRIL

The MCF has announced that due to the ongoing bad weather conditions it has taken the decision to cancel this weekends race meeting.

Matt Bates: “We’ve put such a huge amount of promotion in to this round of the series, especially with local ITV advertising and mailing out to over 200,000 local homes around Cornwall, but if we can’t even drive vehicles on to the paddock (and we’re not in the business of towing trucks in to fields with tractors) then as a group we’re not willing to let everyone take a gamble on their expense and then potentially cancel on the day. I guess that I stand the chance of a negative response as, after all, motocross is supposed to be a sport that will run in all weather – but the fact is our sport has changed and it’s obscenely expensive for all involved when the weather is so bad and at times like this we have to think of riders, fans, landowners and the negative effect on the surrounding areas and villages”.

The second round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals is now rescheduled for the end of the month on the 24/25th April to give the chance for the venue to dry out.

NO FUN AT MALLORY
The second round of the Maxxis British Championship took place at the home of the British GP for the last two seasons, Mallory Park in Leicestershire. As the teams set up on the Saturday with the rain falling continuously the track looked like it would be a quagmire but the rain subsided overnight and as qualifying got underway the next morning the riders were left with a different challenge. The sodden layer of soil formed lines of continuous ruts covering the whole of the track which as they dried throughout the day led to the track becoming more and more one lined, making passing extremely difficult.

Qualifying proved difficult for both riders with Noble posting 10th and Parker a disappointed 20th.

1ST PODIUM FOR NOBLE BUT MISTAKES COST TEAM DEAR ON SUNDAY

The team rolled into Foxhill, Swindon for the 1st round of the Silkolene 2 stroke and the Red Bull Pro National Series and with the weather staying dry throughout the previous week, conditions were pretty much perfect.

PARKER SHINES AT HAWKSTONE

The team rolled into Hawkstone Park on Sunday 7th March for what is usually the first big meet of the year. The weather was superb, as was the track and everyone was looking forward to testing themselves against some of the big guns from across Europe.

TOUGH OPENER FOR TEAM AT LITTLE SILVER

The first round of the Maxxis British Championship took place at Little Silver near Exeter on 28th February. The track was obviously extremely wet but luckily the storms predicted on race day never materialised and the whole program was able to be completed.

With the new qualifying format in operation Noble posted 10th in the first session and as one of the top 12 progressed forward into the super pole where he maintained his position. Parker suffered a burst water pump seal and was only able to post one fast lap, producing a creditable 18th..
