PARKER SHINES AT HAWKSTONE

The team rolled into Hawkstone Park on Sunday 7th March for what is usually the first big meet of the year. The weather was superb, as was the track and everyone was looking forward to testing themselves against some of the big guns from across Europe.

After qualifying in 12th and 16th respectively, Noble and Parker lined up for the first race in determined mood. Noble made a great start in 7th and had pulled away from 8th when he had a big off on the fourth lap. Having only lost one place he continued churning out good lap times through to the flag to record a comfortable 8th place.
Parker made a poor start and was outside the top 30 but looked confident and aggressive as he blasted his way through to 24th at the end of the first lap. After progressing to 18th he made his way onto the back of a gaggle of riders where he settled for a while before turning up the wick and pushing on for an impressive 15th at the finish.

Race two saw both riders make poor starts with Noble down in mid pack and Parker at the back of the field as he slid sideways off the concrete start. Noble pushed through to 14th before clipping the back of another rider and going down in the Shropshire sand. After restarting in 31st he forced his way through to 18th at the flag.
Parker was full of confidence from his first race performance and it showed as he fired his way up to 11th at the finish.

“I’m really pleased with today. James didn’t have the best of luck but showed in the first race that he can still mix it with the best. Nathan put his best two performances together since joining the team and although 15th & 11th won’t make the headlines it was his improved fitness and his confident, aggressive riding that really impressed me. I can’t wait to get to Foxhills next weekend where both lads are riding steel framed 500’s on the Saturday”
