Motocross World & British Championship Team STR

Motocross is one of the few professional sports to immerse spectators in the action, allowing them to get within inches of the top riders as they thunder around the demanding motocross circuits and with each major event consisting of at least four races throughout the day the action is almost non stop. When there is a short break in the action this allows the fans to wander freely around the paddock chatting with the teams and their riders and studying the meticulously prepared motocross machines as the mechanics give the bikes their undivided attention.

STR KTM will be competing in the Maxxiss British Championships and the World Championships in 2012. Remember to look out for our Facebook and twitter pages.

RACE REPORT – MAXXIS BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP RD5

BARR TAKES 2nd ON HOME SOIL
Desertmartin was for a long time a fixture on the Maxxis British Motocross Championship calendar, but in recent years, the championship has concentrated on the mainland. This weekend the championship finally returned to the land of road-race legends, one that Proppa.com KTM’s top rider Martin Barr calls home.

With the weather temperamental and giving the spectators and competitors rain, wind, sun, clouds and more rain, Barr pulled pole out of the hat during qualifying, showing that he meant business and would try to win this one for the team. Barr’s class compatriot Nathan Parker, and the team’s sole MX2 rider Liam Garland also put in a hard effort on what is known as one of the most demanding tracks in the county, qualifying in thirteenth and in thirty-fourth in their respective classes.

There is no doubt that the MX1 class races were all about Barr, Anderson and Whatley. Read the rest of this report »

RACE REPORT – RED BULL PRO NATIONALS RD2

MISTAKES COST PROPPA.COM BOYS AT LANDRAKE
Summer has truly arrived in the United Kingdom, and with the gorgeous barbecue weather continuing, Proppa.com KTM was looking forward to the second round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Landrake in Cornwall.

High winds on both days made things slightly more challenging, but it didn’t stop Liam Garland from making a good impression on Saturday morning as he qualified fifth in the Elite Rookies class. All gremlins from the previous week forgotten, he put in equally sparkling results in the first race, ending sixth, and improved on that result in the second race with a fantastic second place that had him his usual smiling self again. The tough final race on Saturday afternoon in the setting sun and on hard-packed earth put him back in seventh.

On Sunday morning all riders were faced with Read the rest of this report »
